Sounds~Write Reading Books

 

We are now building a series of readers especially written to support phonic teaching. This is a growing resource: eighteen Initial Code and six Extended Code titles are already available, with many more to follow. The table below shows the range of titles scheduled to be available during 2008. These readers can be used by anyone teaching reading to children.

The titles illustrated below are in stock and can be ordered now - just complete the order form and post or fax it to us with your payment.

Initial Code Units 1 - 4

(8 books)

Introducing the vowels a e i o and consonants b  c  d  f  g  h  m  n  p  s  t  v within 3 - sound words such as big, pot, etc.

Initial Code Units 5 - 10

(12 books)

Introducing the vowel u and consonants  k  l  r  w  x  y  z within 3 -sound words. Then extending all these letters into four and five sound words including the doubled-consonant spellings  ff  ll  ss  zz.

Initial Code Unit 11

(6 books)

Introducing the remaining alphabet letter  q  and the two-letter consonant spellings sh  ch  th  ck  wh.

Extended Code

(15 books)
